Dow Jones Manager, Analytical Engineer in PRINCETON, New Jersey

Job Description:Manager, Analytical Engineering

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-starter

  • 3+ years leading multi-layered teams

  • Consulting background a plus

  • Results-oriented professional with database mining, reporting, and analytics experience highlighted by significant accomplishments.

  • Quality control and accurate needs assessment abilities to consistently contribute to increased productivity.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with a reputation for forming productive business relationships at all levels.

  • Enthusiastic, creative, self-motivated and lively individual accustomed to work in agile fast paced environment

  • Experienced in Computer Science /Engineering with a firm understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional Programming with exposure to Data Querying and Manipulation tools. Skilled in SQL, Tableau, SAS (C++, Python a Plus)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate with business stakeholders across the company, and internal technology teams to ensure seamless entry into our proprietary database to retrieve pristine reading on implemented strategies.

  • Inspect all deliverables and assets for quality assurance.

  • Handle production defects and client requests in order to meet and exceed client SLAs.

  • Educate and advise stakeholders on recommended strategies initiatives with respect to data reporting.

  • Stay on top of emerging BI tool trends, share and teach best practices, and identify new opportunities for stakeholders and Lob’s.

  • Track effectiveness of Business Strategies by analyzing results and engagement through analysis tools.

  • Strong understanding of data mining and measurement.

  • Work with non-technical and technical end users and business community

  • Modify SQL in reports and database to tune and/or to the complicated reports

  • Build reports from scratch to end and provide User’s training guidance for report development, performance tuning for both SAS (Base) and Cognos (Optional)

  • Manage Offshore and onsite team in terms of providing work and understanding their work obstacles.

  • Create YTD, QTD and MTD reports and provide ability to do QTR/QTR, Year/Year comparisons.

  • Providing technical leadership to small size/complexity/order-value projects.

  • Define and document architecture, capturing and documenting non-functional (architectural) requirements and technical requirements for new self-serve/automated reports and dashboards

  • Provide guidance, perform reviews, prevent and resolve technical issues.

  • Worked on improvements in reports performance and proposing new ideas to business users.

  • Involved in the Design discussions of the Mappings for data loading for BI dashboards.

  • Dynamic experience on Base SAS, SAS ODS, MACROS and SQL in windows and cloud Environment.

BI TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Dynamic experience on Base SAS, SAS ODS, MACROS and SQL in windows Environment and SAS redshift cloud based.

  • Experience in analysis and sanity checking, validating, and manipulating complex data using knowledge of SAS Macros and Procedures.

  • Having 4 Years of Tableau Experience in Enterprise Environment, in Tableau, 2018.x, 2019.X,2020.1,2,3

  • Experience in Tableau report developing, testing, and deploying reporting solutions using Tableau Server.

  • Experience in development of Reports and Dashboards in Tableau, scheduling and publishing

  • Experience in Creating Aggregates, Hierarchies and Charts.

  • Experience in Quick filters, Context filters and Traditional filters, and Data Source Filters.

  • Extensive knowledge in using calculated fields, and Parameters

  • Experience in implementing Data blending and Joins

  • Expertise to create customized charts, Dual Axes and Blended Axes.

  • Knowledge on different types of functions like logical, Number, String, Aggregate and date functions and Table Calculations.

  • Having knowledge on SQL Joins, Queries and Analytical Functions.

  • Comfortable working in a group environment as well as an individual developer.

OVERALL Technical Skills: Skilled in Python, SQL, Tableau, SAS, AWS (Athena, RedShift)

Qualification: Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Statistics
