About the Role:
The VP, Transformation and Project Management will be a senior member of the Dow Jones Transformation Office. You will have responsibility for running a portfolio transformation and investment projects at Dow Jones, and contributing to the successful management and development of the Transformation Office. You will report to the SVP, Transformation and Project Management.
The functions and services of the VP, Transformation and Project Management include:
Program and project management: support the company in delivering transformation outputs and outcomes through effective planning and implementation of projects and activities.
Strategic alignment of transformation activities: to ensure that the company identifies and prioritizes opportunities that will deliver strategic value.
Contribute to the success of the Transformation Office through leadership and development of colleagues, the adoption and refinement of best practices and as an effective ambassador for the firm’s transformation objectives and strategies.
Collaborate with business leaders to define, prioritize and develop programs/projects
Act as a trusted strategic advisor, work alongside business leaders to help determine which initiatives should be undertaken - why and when, not just how.
Overseeing the development of initiatives alongside leads while ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently and upholding the firm’s standards, goals, and values.
Ensure Dow Jones transformation and project management methodologies, stakeholder engagement, executive status reporting, and overall solution delivery adheres to industry best practices and the firm’s guidelines.
Ensure the leadership is able to understand and manage project status through clear evaluation of performance criteria (eg scope of project, cost, timing and quality).
Develop proactive relationships with senior leaders across business units that are built on trust, transparent communication, and a spirit of collaboration.
Provide training to team leads and stakeholders on good practices in transformation and project management.
Supervise and support capacity building activities in order to build Dow Jones transformation capability in a sustainable manner.
Contribute to forecasting resource requirements and operational needs based transformation objectives and project pipeline.
Significant (+15 years) related experience working on transformation programs in large enterprises. We value and welcome military experience.
Experience in collaborating with other senior leaders to develop projects and programs within a global organization.
Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening)
Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive strategies and build relationships
Ability to understand, organize and present complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences
Ability to synthesize data into actionable strategies and tell the story and communicate to stakeholders at all levels
Proven creative ability in generating new and innovative ideas
Consistent track record of successfully managing large scale global projects
Highly motivated and capable of both working independently and with a team
Strong organizational skills
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with competing resources and deadline
