We are looking for a VP/Director to lead the DJ Consumer Pricing Team. This team is newly formed and will sit in Finance. This team will work across the organization to perform value-based pricing analysis, drive pricing for third party content and distribution deals, lead cross-functional pricing projects, and make recommendations to management regarding our content pricing policies and practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional leadership and senior management, in the execution of various pricing needs. Which includes having a holistic view across all business teams and functions.
Provide clear guidance, discipline, structure and science to our content pricing policies and practices.
Work in collaboration with existing teams to give guidance on pricing and policies for wider partnership deals including content and consumer subscriptions.
Work across consumer content licensing domestically and internationally through the commercial partnerships team, our Professional Information Business partnerships, and anywhere else where we are selling content distribution.
Perform analysis and financial modeling to use pricing to optimize both revenue and profitability.
Identify areas of price opportunity based on data-driven analytics.
Support continuous improvement of pricing and implementation operations and processes.
Develop and execute pricing strategies and programs that are aligned with company revenue and profit objectives and strategic goals. Collaborate with VP, FP&A to identify pricing trends, understand the gross margin needs versus competitive pricing implications of a rapidly changing pricing environment, and develop practices and monitoring tools to drive strategic pricing discussions.
Establish processes to track contract pricing performance & compliance
Creative problem solving for new situations and deal structures.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify critical issues.
Strong financial modeling skills with a high level of proficiency in Excel.
Strong operational background to see through the implementation of new pricing strategies and polocies
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and get to the “story behind the numbers”.
Strong sense of personal ownership and ability to get things done.
Strong communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to direct concurrent, complex projects and activities in an ambiguous environment.
Demonstrated ability to assess data and distill into actionable, strategic recommendations.
10 years + experience
Pricing specific experience in either a pricing consultancy or in house pricing team
