Dow Jones SVP, Financial Services in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

The role of the SVP, Financial Services is to drive partnerships and solutions revenue within the assigned sector. This role entails developing a keen understanding of the client's business and organization, becoming a thought partner and drive the relationship between Dow Jones and industry clients in order that we become an established marketing lever that enables the Client’s business. The SVP, Financial Services is the principal senior representative between Dow Jones and their senior client leadership team with revenue responsibility working with all Dow Jones teams to unlock total customer value. This position will oversee a sector-dedicated client team and will report to the Chief Commercial Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop thought leadership on client’s business and industry

  • Set long term aspiration and annual goals for the sector and key global clients

  • Accountable for the construction of a strategic plan to grow revenue within the sector and for key global clients, with a particular focus on digital, custom and event revenue

  • Partner with client’s media and creative agencies to establish a collaborative relationship in order to achieve the client's’ business objectives

  • Seek to understand sector and client business objectives to ensure Dow Jones solutions are positioned appropriately

  • Accountable for providing timely and accurate forecasts of sales opportunities and pipelines

  • Lead and develop an internal ecosystem of Client Directors, Client Partners and Clients Solution Directors to be consultative sellers

  • Align with cross-functional teams like Strategic Account Planning, Media Sales, Marketing, Solutions and Media Platforms and Products to ensure client expectations are exceeded

  • Deliver and demand the highest levels of client service by partnering with cross-regional teams to align objectives, improve relationships and processes

  • Identify incremental revenue opportunities and scale accordingly to ensure clients’ investment targets are met or exceeded

  • Work within a matrix structure to bring in the right expertise and resources where necessary to deliver customer value… specifically identifying opportunities beyond our media portfolio, opening doors for new conversations

  • Represent our brand and team at industry events as thought leader in the space

REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years of experience in media sales

  • 8-10 years of direct or related sector experience

  • Deep understanding of digital advertising and the latest advertising technology trends

  • Experience in managing large global accounts and delivering the highest service levels to these clients

  • Experience in managing multi-layer, business relationships

  • Ability to influence, develop, and empower colleagues to achieve objectives with a team approach

  • Ability to convert business from other media channels

  • Results and detail orientated

  • Leadership, organizational, and problem-solving/decision-making skills
