Subscription Acquisition Manager: The Wall Street Journal (International & Opinion)
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a Subscription Acquisition Manager to focus on growing our subscriber base through expansionary digital territories—specifically focused on growing our subscriber base in International markets and The WSJ Opinion section. Both digital properties represent a growing revenue stream within Dow Jones, and are a strategic part of our strategy for reaching and acquiring new audiences.
Roles & Responsibilities: You will actively participate in the strategic planning, execution and optimization of digital marketing campaigns to hit monthly, quarterly and annual subscription targets—specifically in our international markets and The WSJ Opinion section.
Responsibilities: Daily responsibilities will vary. They include, but are not limited to:
Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to drive subscriptions for The Wall Street Journal. Main areas of focus will be international territories and the WSJ Opinion section.
Working alongside our in-house media team, you’ll be responsible for developing paid media strategies across paid marketing channels (search, social, display, etc.)—planning, executing and optimizing performance.
Partnering with our product team, you’ll look to improve the overall digital product experience with the aim to drive habitual reading habits and drive up propensity to subscribe.
Working with finance and optimization teams, you’ll look to continually test and improve upon our purchasing experience—this includes design, introducing new products and running price tests to maximize conversion rates.
Partnering with brand and marketing teams, you’ll develop creative assets for end-to-end digital marketing campaigns.
You’ll be responsible for analyzing campaign results and providing post-campaign reports—including actionable insights and next steps for future campaigns.
Staying informed on industry trends, competitive landscapes and new technologies impacting digital marketing. Identifying trends and opportunities, as well as translating analysis into actionable plans.
3-5 years of digital marketing experience, or relevant experience in direct-to-consumer subscription marketing.
ROI-driven, digital-centric capabilities with the ability to anticipate media consumption trends and emerging opportunities.
Knowledge and understanding of building digital marketing strategies.
Excellent planning, problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate issues and conflicts and make timely recommendations to management.
Impeccable time management and ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle projects independently, supervise them to be completed and able to prioritize tasks appropriately.
Demonstrate innovative thinking and new ideas.
Strong initiation and self-motivated.
Able to work well in a team, proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude.
