Dow Jones Revenue Retention Analyst, Revenue Operations in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

Dow Jones, the world’s premier publisher of online business and financial news including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch, has an exciting career opportunity available as a Revenue Retention Analyst within the Revenue Operations team.

As a Revenue Retention Analyst, you will be a key contributor in Dow Jones’ digital revenue reconciliation process. This position will play a critical role in ensuring revenue is successfully recognized, pacing monitored and risk identified across WSJ and Barron's Group digital advertising programs. The ideal candidate will thrive in collaborative environments, exhibit strong attention to detail and effective time management skills, with a keen interest in revenue recognition and the digital ecosystem.

This role will work closely with Finance, Billing, Planning, AdOps, and sales leadership teams, and within various digital advertising systems.


  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups including Ad Operations, Planning and Finance on the monthly digital invoicing and revenue recognition processes.

  • Assist the Planning team in completing monthly reconciliation, ensuring overall recognized revenue projections are achieved.

  • Provide proactive digital invoicing and revenue recognition support and training to the Planning team.

  • Communicate monthly revenue status to team leadership.

  • Become an expert in the digital billing workflow, successfully facilitating troubleshooting and solutioning on a campaign by campaign basis. Partner with the Senior Manager, Revenue Retention to iterate and improve upon current workflow processes.

  • Analyze revenue at risk and work with Planning and Advertising Operations on potential solutions. Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of overall campaign and network health.

  • Work closely with clients, sales, and Planning to accommodate and execute custom billing schedules and event sponsorship invoices.

  • Participate in the management of internal process controls, promoting adherence to processes and identifying potential risks


  • Bachelor’s degree; a degree in related fields (Accounting, Business Analytics, Marketing) a plus

  • Strong analytical, strategic and creative problem-solving skills; Excel experience required.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.

  • Strong communication skills: ability to translate complex processes and internal requirements into clear, executable tasks for peers, sales, and clients.

  • Possess an ability to work effectively and interface with sales, support, and finance teams.

  • Strong capacity to work with internal partners to improve processes and develop best practices.

  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently within a fast-paced environment
