Job Description:

Dow Jones, a leader in the global media industry, seeks a Program Manager, Global Diversity & Inclusion to create and guide inclusion, equity and diversity mechanisms and programming. The Program Manager will help build scalable programs to promote an inclusive, equitable and diverse culture. We are looking for an experienced project manager with passion and experience in the inclusion, equity and diversity space combined with the ability to operationalize and scale programs.

Reporting to the VP, Inclusion & Community, the Program Manager is a collaborative leader who embodies the spirit of our culture by living and supporting our core values; curiosity, trust &humility.

You have experience leading programs across multiple organizations with numerous partners. You have experience driving meaningful action and results, are data- and detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. You will work with multiple partners, improve collaboration, and best practice sharing. You will operate in a matrixed environment and must have a background in managing multiple concurrent projects and driving them to completion. You will propose and implement creative solutions and collaborate across the company to drive change.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Meaningfully contribute to Dow Jones’ diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and DEI governance structures. Build and manage programs, aligned with the execution of the DEI company strategy

  • Build relationships and communicate with Inclusive Resource Groups (IRGs), Regional D&I Councils, Executive Sponsors, and senior management. Work with our Regional D&I Councils and IRG Leads to align on our DEI strategy regionally and globally. Help manage IRG and Council annual budgets

  • Design strategies to increase IRG membership and participation across the globe, creating operational structures that foster community, empowering employees to drive organizational goals, and sharing best practices to allow IRGs to have greater impact

  • Coach IRG Leads to develop as organizers, leaders, and representatives of affinity communities

  • Collaborate on DEI programs across the people team and with other BU and functional areas

  • Measure the impact of DEI programs using both qualitative and quantitative methods

  • Organize, promote, and moderate company-wide events that educate and create community around diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Partner with our Marketing and Communications functions to increase awareness of DEI activities and provide best practices on communications related to race, gender, ethnicity, age, sexuality, and ability status

  • Develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and guide program goals through program management and defined project plans

  • Create tools, guidelines, and solutions to help the organization maintain a diverse, welcoming, and connected environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading large-scale projects; successful teaming with colleagues, and outcome-based results orientation approach

  • 5+ years of project and program management skills

  • Experience developing solutions that positively impact diversity, equity and inclusion

  • Understanding of what works concerning DEI and how to incorporate best and latest external practices

  • Ability to motivate and influence senior leadership, partners and peer groups

  • Ability to articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and management

  • Experience translating metrics, research, and trends into strategy and improvement opportunities

  • Expertise in program strategy and project management, including examples of past challenges, solutions, and influence
