Dow Jones Product Manager, MarketWatch in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

MarketWatch, a leading financial news site at Dow Jones, is looking to hire a product manager to assist in driving digital growth of our Virtual Stock Exchange (VSE) game. VSE is a popular stock simulation platform, used regularly by high school and college students, as well as new investors itching to learn about the world of finance.

As a product manager at MarketWatch, you will build experiences that delight our users, boost core metrics, and meet the overall ambitions of the organization. Working closely with the executive team at MW and reporting to the Director of Product, you will be responsible for planning, defining and executing against the VSE roadmap. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver features that improve the gaming experience across web and app. You will help build the business, and enhance the brand, leading projects from ideation to completion and beyond. You are a creative self-starter, multi-skilled in content strategy, advertising and technology. You pride yourself on delivering features on time and without compromising quality. You are able to efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently, while effectively communicating to stakeholders throughout the product development process.

Location: Minneapolis or New York

Responsibilities include:

  • Working cross-functionally across all areas to define and prioritize business and editorial requirements for new products and enhancements.

  • Making product enhancement and optimization recommendations to increase revenue both from advertising and subscriptions.

  • Performing business analysis to demonstrate ROI and P&L impact of product enhancements.

  • Working with research teams to gather and analyze audience research and feedback regarding new products and enhancements.

  • Working closely with software developers throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Defining and measuring KPIs for success.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of product management experience.

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about digital media, news and investing.

  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of Omniture analytics platform.

  • Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative consumer research.

  • Experience defining and implementing product requirements for websites and mobile apps.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Proven ability partnering with a technology organization.

  • Highly strategic as well as detail-oriented.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
