The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the digital direct marketing strategy for The Wall Street Journal, Barrons and Marketwatch. This is an influential role that will interact with key departments and disciplines. He/she will be responsible for the ideation and creation of digital advertising assets that meet all brand guidelines and best practices, but also uses data and iterative testing to produce key assets used for various digital channels (social, display, email etc.). Other key responsibilities include overseeing marketing briefs and creative production and working directly with our internal creative team to improve efficiency and performance. This is a highly collaborative role that will interact closely with our media, acquisition and marketing teams and manage two marketing associates. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years experience working in marketing, delivering successful, hardworking campaigns and managing multiple stakeholders to drive results, ideally at a global brand, media business or social platform.
Own all aspects of digital direct marketing including thinking holistically across all audiences and markets for each of our products.
Strong understanding and expertise of digital marketing across several online channels to drive brand awareness and more importantly, increase informed clicks to our landing pages.
Manage student activation programs to generate student subscriptions .
Ideate and create iterative direct marketing testing to optimize messaging, creative and brand positioning to continue to improve our advertising performance.
Oversee creative development, including briefs, feedback and rollout for all campaign assets.
Able to leverage audience expertise, channel insights and effective messaging to help drive key business metrics.
Be a proven expert in digital advertising who is able to partner across the business and ensure stakeholders in the membership teams are supported to meet their KPIs. Key partners include media, membership and creative teams.
Excellent project manager able to keep teams to a tight deadline and manage stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Motivate and coach two direct reports to create best in class marketing with a laser focus on driving business results.
Team player with solid judgement and the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment.
A minimum of 4 years experience working in marketing, with a focus on briefing, executing and monitoring marketing campaigns
Ability to work with and get buy in from multiple stakeholders across the business
An interest in news and media, particularly in emerging technologies and trends in the industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creative thinker, ability to provide feedback to agencies to produce work in line with an agreed brief and objectives.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage workload effectively in a fast paced environment
Some management experience
College degree (or equivalent), preferably in marketing, communications, or a business discipline.
