The Marketing Director, Campaigns will be responsible for the overall campaign strategy for the Wall Street Journal. This is an influential role that brings together stakeholders from multiple departments and disciplines. S/he will create the annual marketing strategy to support the WSJ brand, driving awareness, consideration and volume goals, overseeing marketing briefs and global multi channel marketing campaigns and owning key partnerships. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience working in marketing, delivering successful, hardworking campaigns and managing multiple stakeholders to drive results, ideally at a global brand or digital subscription business.
Own all aspects of campaign marketing including thinking holistically across all audiences and markets.
Strong understanding and expertise of all aspects of campaign marketing, including developing brands through awareness and consideration, product marketing, experiential marketing, in-life engagement and retention.
Size new marketing opportunities, assess customer impacts, and make recommendations to enhance current programs and improve results.
Set the campaign marketing strategy to ensure the team meets company goals across consideration, awareness and traffic driving.
Able to leverage audience expertise, channel insights and effective messaging to help drive key business metrics.
Be a proven expert in brand and campaign planning, who’s able to partner across the business and ensure stakeholders in the membership teams are supported to meet their KPIs. Key partners include legal, membership, finance and operations teams
Excellent project manager able to keep teams to a tight deadline and manage stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Analyze market trends and competitors to create ideas which shape the overarching marketing strategy.
Motivate and coach a team of marketers to create best in class marketing with a laser focus on driving business results.
Partner with the Marketing Director of Commerce to ensure all campaigns are considered through the lens of all WSJ audiences to drive the most impact and engagement.
Team player with solid judgement and the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment.
Manage strategic partnerships from a marketing perspective and ensure value is delivered for both sides.
A minimum of 5 years experience working in marketing, with a focus on briefing, executing and monitoring marketing campaigns
Ability to work with and get buy in from multiple stakeholders across the business
An interest in media, particularly in emerging technologies and trends in the marketing industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage a budget
Creative thinker, ability to provide feedback to agencies to produce work in line with an agreed brief and objectives.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage workload effectively in a fast paced environment
College degree (or equivalent), preferably in marketing, communications, or a business discipline.
