Dow Jones Managing Director, Commercial Operations - Wealth & Asset Management in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

The role of Managing Director, Commercial Operations responsible for managing all aspects of event strategy, underwriting, content, and membership regarding the Wealth & Asset Management Team’s advisor business. Reporting to the Global Head, Wealth & Asset Management, you will drive measurable strategies for growth, quantitative and qualitative analysis, sponsor synergy, and creative engagement across WAM’s portfolio of global live, virtual, and hybrid events. The role also entails development of the team’s international business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be passionate in pursuing revenue and membership growth opportunities across the global wealth management ecosystem, and be fully aware of key industry trends that inform our event, content, and membership offerings.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Manage strategic planning informing overall event, partnership and membership offerings

  • Schedule the Wealth & Asset Management team calendar of global Advisor Summits, digital events, external and partnership offerings

  • Track and analyze revenue, expenses, and profit results to inform strategy

  • Proactively support business management with long-term planning initiatives.

  • Oversee promotional schedule, messaging, attendee experience and production for Barron’s Advisor Summits

  • Oversee the live journalism and related digital content development function globally.

  • Liaise with core Barron’s product, editorial, and leadership teams to foster alignment and integration with broader Barron’s Group initiatives and strategy

  • Vet production, platform, creative agency, and experiential vendors and manage their projects, production timeline, costs, and quality control

  • Develop best practices for content hosting, interactive event technology solutions, virtual lead generation, and broadcast and hybrid presentation.

  • Collaborate with the product, marketing, and sales teams to bring business initiatives to life -- on brand, on time, on budget

  • Provide data-led assessments of existing processes and productions, offering detailed analysis and solution ideation for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others on team.

  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze revenue, profit, and membership results to inform strategy

  • Deep knowledge of the capital markets, wealth advisory, and financial services industry.

  • Ability to identify key global wealth market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Capability to move easily between generating big, creative ideas, and driving ongoing process improvement

  • Experience working cross-functionally across multiple teams and disciplines

  • Ability to implement and execute complex strategic partnerships.

  • Ability to Travel to events and meetings.

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
