An accomplished communicator, the Director, Circulation & Retail Operations -NYC will be an innovative team leader with a proven record of driving sales through creative marketing initiatives. To be successful, the Director will plan and execute strategies that ensure the New York Post, The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s, in print format, are available for purchase via retailers, hawkers and newsstands across New York City, and optimized within designated wholesale territories.The role will require ongoing evaluation of sales strategies and collaboration with other teams to identify and execute opportunities for increased volume, sales and revenue.
Lead, inspire and motivate a team of retail circulation and operation professionals.
Nurture and influence relationships with key wholesale partners in NY-Tri State markets.
Exceed circulation sales, revenue and waste targets through effective draw regulation.
Optimize customer experience for all circulation marketing initiatives.
Collaborate and champion the Print Group’s strategic and operational plans.
Evaluate specific business initiatives by analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
Nurture relationships with New York Post C-suite, finance and Circulation Operations team.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience managing sales teams in retail/operational environment
Vendor management expertise, ensuring accountability for on-time delivery/completion.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey ideas succinctly and articulately
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
Skilled at effectively influencing, persuading and collaborating in a matrix environment.
Demonstrated financial expertise; ability to monitor performance and manage budgets.
Confidence to challenge the status quo using sound analysis and good judgment.
Strong and effective organizational and time management skills
College degree or equivalent.
