Dow Jones Content Manager, Wealth & Asset Management in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

The Content Manager will create the programming behind Barron’s industry-leading financial advisor conferences. The job includes choosing content topics, selecting speakers, and assuming full responsibility of agenda creation for domestic and international Barron’s Wealth Management Programs. The right candidate has -- or will quickly develop -- a deep understanding of the wealth management industry, build relationships with financial advisors and industry contacts, and stay on the cutting edge of industry trends to inform content themes. The successful candidate will be capable of crafting sophisticated agendas for an elite and demanding audience of top-tier financial advisors. The subjects werange widely, from growth strategies to sustainability to investment ideas to best practices for managing a team. We also dive deep into practice management.

  • Build and maintain a speaker pipeline of financial advisors and key executives in the wealth and asset management industries.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Barron’s Advisor and create agendas for large scale events for the group's clients, research and introduce new content ideas based on industry trends.

  • Create conference content by way of agenda creation, including speaker selection, compelling session titles and descriptions, and interview and/or panel questions designed to evoke insightful answers.

  • Act as a Barron’s ambassador with external firms and partners - leading client communication and maintaining relationships, helping identify external thought leaders or influencers.

  • Work closely with other members of the content, marketing, design and event team.

  • Brief top Barron’s editors, celebrity speakers and C-Suite executives in preparation for speaking engagements.

  • Stay abreast of wealth management content trends in order to follow — and transcend — content best practices, including content development resources and thought leader identification.

  • Manage the Content Development Coordinator.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry

  • Editorial experience, particularly news reporting, preferred, but not required. Good judgment mandatory.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written. Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism while working with key stakeholders and potential speakers

  • Experience with content management and events - must be passionate about content, live events and conferences.

  • Strong project management skills, and demonstrated ability to respond to deadline with urgency and effectively manage competing priorities within the live events and conferences programming world

  • Proven track record of owning and developing content programs for financial advisors.

  • Creative thinker, passionate about creating on-the-pulse content ideas.
