Dow Jones Business Analyst in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

This position is a unique opportunity for a talented and motivated candidate to work closely with a Dow Jones senior executive and team. Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and self-motivated with a passion to grow in Dow Jones. You should have strong communication skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to handle confidential information. You should be a creative problem solver, extremely well-organized, take ownership of the tasks at hand, calm under pressure, and capable of multitasking. You will also be someone who enjoys being a team player, and can handle many different types of people with tact and courtesy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the communication processes that currently exist for the CFO with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate on cross-functional team projects to help further support the CFO on internal and external engagements.

  • Work with internal stakeholders, from the Communications team to the Live Events team, to better support on current events.

  • Create a rules of engagement document on how to assist the Communications team and Live Events team to better support the process on future events.

  • Support research projects and script creations for events such as Investor Day, Strategy Day and Budget.

  • Collect, analyze and document finance internal processes.

  • Analyze department trends and develop new insights and perspectives for the CFO to review on a quarterly basis.

  • Document cultural projects within the Finance department for further analysis by the People team.

  • Researching new ways for the CFO to engage with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. posting the CFO speaking engagements on the CFO’s personal LinkedIn, researching how other CFO’s are engaging with their networks…)

  • Ensuring the CFO’s speaking events are reshared on the Dow Jones LinkedIn and creating a partnership with the team that manages Dow Jones Content.

  • Creating opportunities for Finance events and highlights to be shared in the Lede and other Dow Jones communication channels where appropriate.

Assisting with weekly projects

  • The business analyst will meet daily with the Senior Director of Finance Operations to discuss events within the Finance Program;

  • The BA will assist in putting together the bi-weekly round table slides and script.

  • Assist in creating the “In the Know” section for the weekly checkout note.

  • Provide proposal ideas on checkout note themes.

  • Update the Finance Indoctrination or Finance Handshake document on a quarterly basis.

  • Completing writeups on the participants attending virtual breaks and helping follow ups on the virtuals breaks. (Every other week)

  • Complete writeup documents on individuals meeting with the CFO for the first time.

  • Review the weekly reading drive and provide a summary report on events that should be highlighted.

  • Assist in creating content for the Finance Offsites and the completing the follow ups from the offsite with the help of the Senior Director of Finance Operations.

  • Assist in hosting department wide events. (Ad Hoc)

  • Assist in creating meeting minutes for cultural events.

Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

  • The resource must have an ability to dive into projects, be a self starter and have a desire to learn as much as possible.

  • The resource also must have a willingness to complete research requests.
