Editor, Custom Content (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

Overall:

The Trust is the in-house creative consultancy for The Wall Street Journal Barron’s Group, creating articles, video and audio for brands across the group’s various media properties and platforms. Staffed by a team of editors, designers, producers, creative directors, strategists and developers, The Trust creates award-winning work for clients from around the world and across sectors.

Working on primarily digital campaigns—from high-level B2B thought leadership to visually led, consumer-driven storytelling—the editorial team within The Trust creates content that requires both journalistic skills and creative marketing experience.

Based in London, this Editor role will sit within our International creative production team, overseeing the commissioning of writers and editing all articles. The Editor will work with clients and writers to produce narratives and synopsis. Factoring in knowledge on performance best practices, the Editor will play a key role in helping our clients tell authentic and impactful stories to pique the interest of WSJ|BG’s decision-making audience. This role will report into the Head of Creative Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute high-level branded content articles.

  • Commission and edit branded-content stories, short explainers, video/audio scripts, display ads and other formats.

  • Understand specific client needs in order to provide compelling, creative solutions.

  • Edit freelance writers articles; growing a network of writers across regions.

  • Work collaboratively with clients as well as in-house teams. Build compelling stories around client KPIs that add value to client/Trust relationships.

  • Work with performance teams to ensure work is data-lead. Edit story amplification copy to reflect that.

  • Self Starting

  • Digital first multichannel experience

  • Hosting of Podcasts

  • Regularly Host Live Events

Experience/background/skills:

  • 4+ years writing/editing experience. Preferable: 1-2 years branded content/client-facing experience.

  • Digital first journalism/storytelling experience. Preferable: multimedia experience.

  • Experience of working across multiple projects. Proven ability to manage workflow.

  • Love for brand storytelling.
