We are looking for a Senior Manager, Experience Design, B2B to set the direction and standards for design across Dow Jones’ B2B portfolio, which includes Factiva, NewsPlus, Risk & Compliance and any new PIB related products.
As Senior Manager, Experience Design, B2B, you will collaborate with design, product, technology, marketing, data, customer insights, and advertising teams to elegantly solve problems for users while driving business value. In this hand-on role, you will help support designers as well as directly contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
This role will report directly to the Creative Director, DJ.
The Senior Manager, Experience Design, B2B will contribute to the ideation and evolution of our consumer products, ensuring we are customer-focused and that our visual vocabulary, interaction patterns, and design system enable the mission and communicate the voices of our consumer brands.
As Senior Manager, Experience Design, B2B you will be responsible for supporting the recruitment, development, and mentoring of a strong design team within the department, creating a culture of excellence in ideas and execution, collaborating across departments and creating connections across DJ through regular communications and reports.
Support creative thought leadership and visual design for all B2B products, combining industry best practices and methodologies, metrics, and analytics with your expertise.
Connect the dots across various project teams, the Design System team, and Product and Engineering and identify opportunities for collaboration
Ensure that design solutions support specific business goals
Communicate and implement the larger Experience strategy in the work done by the B2B Design teams
Lead the design team in ideation and concept explorations, partnering with Product, Engineering, Experience Architecture and other internal partners to shape the experience of consumer-facing products
Contribute hands on sketches and concepts to guide the team, assisting in project deliverables when needed
Contribute to the growth of our design system and its application in projects
Support brainstorming meetings and creative sessions
Partner with peers to create a connected experience across the Dow Jones’ portfolio of B2B products, including Factiva, NewsPlus and Risk & Compliance
Meet with stakeholders and upper management to get input and communicate strategies and solutions
Regular meetings and coordination with Product and Engineering, including timelines and resource management
Manage the workload of your team and provide regular updates on projects, team status, and resourcing
Guide the team to deliver projects that are creatively exceptional and technically impeccable.
On time delivery of UX and creative deliverables
Hands on work as required
Degree in design, computer science, human factors or equivalent work experience.
Design professional with 10 or more years of relevant work experience.
7+ years in previous leadership roles and can effectively oversee the quality and efficacy of our digital team’s work.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience working with Design Systems.
Expertise in Figma.
Strong conceptual skills and a deep knowledge of the digital landscape.
Demonstrated ability to design inspiring new solutions to challenges, often in collaboration with end users and stakeholders.
Proven experience in design direction.
Experience working with and designing for large-scale publishing and data-rich systems
Experience working with multiple types of users with different needs and goals.
Excellent facilitation, brainstorming and collaboration skills.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Experience building and mentoring teams.
Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and compliance.
