OPIS is one of the world's most comprehensive sources for petroleum pricing and news information. Dow Jones provides real-time and historical spot, wholesale/rack and retail fuel prices for the refined products, renewable fuels, and natural gas and gas liquids (LPG) industries. At its core, Dow Jones uses a set of complex IT systems and tools, handling huge amounts of data in a reliable way, and providing customers with business applications to use this data as efficient as possible.
Our industry-leading proprietary benchmark coal price markers, fundamentals data and mining intelligence help producers and suppliers, utility and power generators, traders, financial institutions, integrated oil and gas companies, governments and end-users buy and sell mined commodities profitably, as well as perform critical market analysis on how coal affects the energy market and other fuels. The team is rapidly expanding to steel raw materials and energy transition minerals

The role:
Support product management responsibility for the Coal, Metals and Mining divison. This role will be a key partner with Research & Analysis to drive commercial success of the team.
Initial priority will be pricing & product positioning. Specifically, to revise and maintain pricing strategy and tools. This will require processing, organizing, and interpreting large amount of industry and client information to structure an effective value-based pricing system. The successful candidate will have advanced skills to analyze data and strong qualitative/content analytics to be able to interpret data within the market context.
On top of pricing responsibilities, this role will evolve to support product management workflows which include but are not limited to:
Pricing intelligence and operation (initial priority)
Whitespace & market trends
product development roadmap with business analytics
Transform client feedback and usage data into market insights
Manage product development process
Provide key input into product delivery (i.e., platform development and innovative product delivery mechanisms)
Partner with sales and marketing to effectively communicate value proposition
The successful candidate will interact with clients, sales, and content colleagues to create a holistic product value to improve commercialization strategies
Key elements of the role:
Revise, re-structure and maintain a value-based pricing strategy and tools that support it internally and externally
Examine client usage data and other engagement metrics, and work with Research and Customer Care to develop strategies for increasing client value-realization and retention rates
Maintain an understanding of industry trends
Identify and define new product concepts, and evaluate their commercial potential, examining client value, strategic fit, pricing potential, and competitive environment
Support Marketing in the development of marketing material and campaigns, including work with Research to drive broad marketplace awareness via dissemination of thought leadership
Assist Sales in their development of new business account plans
Job Requirements
5+ years of product management experience, B2B data/information, and/or industry analysis, products – software experience is particularly valued for this role
Past success in both developing and launching new offerings and in finding new avenues for growth for mature products
Advanced
Related industry knowledge – and/or demonstrated ability to quickly develop understanding
Experience in and enthusiasm for engaging with clients to understand customer industry workflows, identify unmet needs, and develop creative solutions to address them
Data Lakes – experience with application to complex analytical problems
Ability to work with technical development teams
